Free E-Book: Come Play with Me

Sightwordbookpage Coloring Book Cover for web pageHello friends!  As many of you know, March is Reading Month.  To help celebrate, the e-book Come Play with Me: A Sight Word Book for Beginning Readers will be free to download on March 24 and 25.  This is an 8-page picture book  by Derian Designs Coloring that uses just 63 words.  Most of the words used come from the Dolch word list for preschool and kindergarten.   The simple words are repeated throughout the text to reinforce learning, while pictures will help your child decode the text.  In addition, there is a free companion coloring and activity book available from this site.  It is a PDF file that you can download and print as you like.  Click here for  Come Play with Me Coloring Book.

It can be hard to find books that your younger children can read independently.  Often in kindergarten, they make little sight word books.  That’s where I got the idea for the e-book.  Since my kids enjoy using electronics to learn, I thought having a simple e-book for my younger children would be fun.  Combining it with the coloring and activity book gives even more learning opportunities.  Besides coloring the story, there are sight words to trace as well as upper and lower case alphabets.

Click here to download Come Play with Me E-Book  from Amazon for Kindle on March 24 and 25 2017. If you happen to miss the free days, the normal price is just $o.99.  (If you are enrolled in Kindle Unlimited, the book will be listed for free until June 3, 2017.) If you do not already use Kindle, you should give it a try.  The apps are free for computers, phones, and tablets.  You can also use the app to read books from your local library after using Overdrive to download the books. I like it because as long as I have my phone, I always have something to read.

Please like and share.  I am looking forward to seeing how far this goes.  To date, there have been visitors from 5 continents and 12 countries!

Happy reading!
